The International Ichnological Association is offering travel grants for students to attend to the forthcoming Third International Ichnological Congress ICHNIA 2012 to be held in the Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, Canada in August 9-24.
Who is eligible for the grants?
Only student members of the International Ichnological Association who are contributing as first authors of a presentation (either oral or poster) to the meeting are eligible. The abstract must be already submitted when applying for the travel grant.
What is the value of the awards?
6 travel grants of 400 USD will be awarded. The awarding committee may decide to modify the number of grants and their amount depending on the number and quality of applicants. The total amount awarded will be $2400. The grants will be presented during the congress in cash or in a bank-cashable check.
What is required for the application?
Applicants must send their CV, the abstract of their presentation (indicating if it will be presented as an oral contribution or poster), and a document proving their student status.
How will the decision be taken?
The awardees will be decided by a committee constituted of three members of the International Ichnological Association. The criteria that will be taken into account will be the scientific merit of the abstract, and the scientific trajectory of the applicant as expressed in the CV.
The deadline for application is June 21st 2012.
The final decision will be taken not later than three weeks after the deadline.
